As the musical son of a Serbian father and a Bosnia Croatian mother, classical guitarist Goran Ivanovic has crossed many boundaries in his life and in his music. While he was studying at Mozarteum in Salzburg, his parents, driven from Croatia by civil strife, were granted political asylum in the United States. After joining them here, Goran’s broad grounding in classical music has been enriched by influences from jazz, Blakan and international sources.
Besides his frequent performances at major festivals, concert halls, noted jazz clubs, as well as on TV and radio programs, Goran has taught classical guitar as a guest artist at the universities of Cargonie Mellon, Princeton, Michigan, De Paul and Truman. He has been the lead performer in the six albums so far released, and published by Lemoine Publications in Paris under the direction of Sergio Assad, a Grammy winning artist.
